How to prepare for your in-home lactation consultation:
Do:
  • Be comfortable! Wear what you want to wear!
  • Relax - help is on the way!
  • Have your baby close by

Don't:
  • Don't clean your house. I'm coming to help you with breastfeeding, not to check how clean your floors are!
  • Don't fix your hair and put on makeup (unless those things make YOU feel better!)
  • Don't feed your baby right before I get there.
  • Don't forget that I'm a mom too. I have boys and dogs and I am used to noises and messes.

*Payment:
Blue Cross Blue Shield and Cigna  insurance holders, please click here to check for coverage.
All other insurance carriers: I accept payment (check, cash, or credit card) at the time of the consult, and I provide you with a receipt for you to file with your insurance company for reimbursement. I do not file insurance for you. The Affordable Care Act states that "health insurance plans must cover counseling and access to breastfeeding supplies for pregnant and nursing women. That means you may be able to get help with breastfeeding at no cost to you."

I recommend you call the number on your card to discuss the details of your lactation coverage.
